For over 45 years, D’Argentat has upheld a legacy of exceptional craftsmanship, rooted in Argentat’s long tradition of woodworking, which dates back to the 18th century.
Founded in 1979 by René Lapeyre, the workshop initially specialized in high-end sofas. In the 1990s, Pascal Lapeyre, René’s son, joined the company, expanding its expertise in seating design. Over time, the family-run business mastered the entire production process—from woodworking to upholstery—offering a fully integrated and distinctive approach.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted by expert artisans, ensuring a perfect balance of comfort, precision, and material excellence. Recognized by luxury brands, D’Argentat has established itself as a leading name in French furniture manufacturing, collaborating with architects, decorators, and designers on ambitious projects.
Honored with the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label in 2010, the company further cemented its reputation with the acquisition of the iconic furniture reissue house, ECART International, in 2011. In March 2024, Pierre Yovanovitch Group took ownership, preserving D’Argentat’s rich heritage while furthering its commitment to blending tradition and innovation on a global scale.
